That didn't take long.
Microsoft is now offering to replace for free any scratched Limited Edition Halo 3 discs.
The free replacement deal runs through Dec. 31. Just fill out the form and mail it back with your scratched disc.
You will have to wait two weeks to get the disc back, though.
From what I've been reading, most retailers seem to be aware of the problem and are simply offering replacement discs on the spot. So I'd try that before waiting a fortnight for a new disc to show up via snail mail.
Also, Microsoft, what the heck is going on in quality control? This is the biggest software launch in the gaming division's history, and the limited edition box was apparently designed by blind children. Good job!
