I'm still wondering how games that haven't been released get nominations.

'Skate' deservedly earned a nomination for best individual sports title. But for me, it's game of the year. By far.

Spike's choices for Game of the Year? Here:

• BioShock
• Halo 3
• Mass Effect
• The Orange Box

Of that list, I pick 'Orange Box.'

My other favorite, 'Call of Duty 4' got nominated for best multiplayer and best graphics. And 'Ratchet and Clank Future' got nominated for best PS3 game.

I don't understand these awards. Are they really real or just an MTV kind of thing?
