Camp Jam and NAMM Present the “Ready-Set-ROCK! Tour,” a Free, Interactive Event Featuring Music Clinic with Rock Legend Jeff Carlisi, NAMM's Wanna Play Guitar? Program Featuring Guitar Hero™ III - Legends of Rock and Rock Solo Contest March 29 and 30, 2008

What: Camp Jam, the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll summer day camp with programs for musicians ages 7 to 17, and NAMM, the international music products association, are teaming up with local music stores this spring to present the Camp Jam Ready-Set-ROCK! Tour, a free interactive music event that offers young rockers the opportunity to meet, jam and even battle with a real rock hero.

The event in Dallas will kick off with a free music clinic led by Jeff Carlisi, co-founder of Camp Jam and founding member of platinum selling rock band 38 Special. During the clinic, Carlisi and Camp Jam’s pro music instructors will give young musicians a “backstage” look at what they can expect when attending Camp Jam this summer, offering up music instruction, sharing tricks of the trade, helping them hone their rock ‘n’ roll chops and teach young musicians about being in a successful band.

Following the clinic, the young musicians will have the chance to demonstrate both their virtual and real life rock ‘n’ roll chops. The participants will first battle it out in NAMM’s Wanna Play Guitar? Program featuring Guitar Hero III™- Legends of Rock. Each will be given the chance to virtually rock out on the popular video game with the top players competing head-to-head against Carlisi, a real-life guitar legend, for a $100 gift certificate to the music store.

After warming up with the interactive clinic and virtual rock experience, the young musicians will then show of their real shredding skills in a Best Rock Solo Contest, with the winning rocker receiving a free week session at Camp Jam this summer in Dallas.

Who: Event open to all Dallas-area guitarists, bass players, drummers, keyboardists and singers ages 7 to 17.

ROCK SOLO CONTEST: Dallas rockers, ages 7 to 17, are invited to play their best 30-second rock solo for a chance to win a free session to Camp Jam Dallas. The contest is open to all guitarists, bass players, drummers, keyboardists and vocalists. Instruments will be provided although guitarists and bass players can bring their own instrument if they like.

NAMM'S WANNA PLAY? GUITAR PROGRAM FEATURING GUITAR HERO™ III- LEGENDS OF ROCK: The program is open to the first 40 Dallas area rockers, ages seven to 17. Those with the top five scores will advance to compete against real-life guitar legend Jeff Carlisi. The young rocker with the highest overall score will win a $100 gift certificate to the music store.

READY-SET-ROCK! TOUR PRE-REGISTRATIONS: Anyone who pre-registers for the Ready-Set-Rock!
