Creating "King of Fighters XII" amazing dot graphics

If you pick up "King of Fighters XII" for the Xbox 360 or PS3, you will notice the characters are created out of pixels. It's a little strange to see, especially in this age of HD 3D, but they're all animated beautifully.
What's amazing about this technique is that the process to create the animations for each of the game's fighters took up to 6 and a half months!
Kind of makes you appreciate the concept of "games as art" even more.
