QuakeCon is this week!

If you're in the Dallas / Fort Worth / North Texas area this week, try try try to get to QuakeCon at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.

You owe it to yourself to see this ridiculously gigantic LAN party and game festival. Besides lots of cool keynotes, workshops and presentations there's a lot to see and do for gamers and video game fans.

The best part is that the whole thing is completely free.

I would pay particular attention to the id software presentation at 3:00pm on Thursday and the 4:00pm John Carmack keynote address that same day. Those are always chock full of cool info and gaming.

The very first public demonstration of Bethesda's first-person shoot game "Brink" will occur on Friday, August 14th at 1:00pm on the main stage. Remember, this is the studio that brought us "Fallout 3," so this will be a massive reveal.
