Big Surf Island comes to 'Burnout Paradise' on June 11!

10:22 AM, May 22, 2009
If you've been following Criterion Games on Twitter (twitter.com/CriterionGames), you know that some big announcement has been teased for the last several days.
Well, today it has been revealed: even MORE DLC for 'Burnout Paradise' (Xbox 360, PS3); and this time it's going to be HUGE!
In the last few updates of the game a giant bridge has been under construction between the mainland and an island in the bay. On June 11, games will be able to travel to that island and participate in ridiculous new gameplay, including insane jumps and all new topography that's roughly the size of downtown Paradise. Plus the DLC offers new cars, including dune-buggy-type stadium cars. And Criterion promises "if you can see it, you can drive to it."
After the announcement a video was posted to the Criterion site (click here to watch it) and the new stuff looks amazing!

12:24 PM, May 5, 2009
The new Creator Pack content for the PS3's awesome 'Little Big Planet' contains a news "Infinite Lives" checkpoint object that you can use in your own custom levels. This is a nice gift to players that find parts of your creations a little too difficult to survive.
Even better, developers Media Molecule have provided an explanation of the checkpoint in this hilarious video.
Keep watching. This would be the level from hell:

"DJ Hero" is officially official, kind of.

12:25 PM, March 23, 2009
Activision's long-rumored, denied and re-rumored foray into a DJ game, "DJ Hero," is now officially teased HERE.
I, for one, am REALLY looking forward to this game. I just hope it incorporates music styles that are beyond the obvious hip-hop inclusions.
Oh, and it looks like it's coming for every major (non-portable) system. Cool!
We'll see what happens next. Sign up at the official site for updates.

'Little Big Planet' update today, AND more...

11:32 AM, February 10, 2009
According to the Official PlayStation blog, 1.09 update of LBP goes live today.
But, there's not much to get excited about:
This update contains some minor adjustments plus addresses the following bug fixes:
'Failed to save profile' message not being displayed when a user's profile is full.
Object Capture Bug: switch connectors being deleted when an object is captured.
Failed to load profile issue: where the user is thrown out to the XMB due to a texture that is not registered in their profile being present in their pod.
Text not displaying in the text chat window.
Slow rewind due to moderation check.
Save file corruption which caused the game to crash when placing any object in an emitter in any level.
But, the REALLY good news is that LBP toys are on their way...
Toy developer and manufacturer, Mezco Toyz, will also release retailer exclusives, variants and limited-edition Sackboys throughout the year, which will range between 2″ and 18″ scale figurines.

'Street Fighter IV' to get multiple exclusive controllers

2:36 PM, December 17, 2008
'Street Fighter IV' will be getting several exclusive controllers for its February 2009 PS3 and Xbox 360 launch.
The Tournament Edition joystick for both consoles, which recently made a stealthy appearance G4TV's X-Play, will feature actual Sanwa parts... just like the real arcade sticks. Shockingly priced at $149, the stick requires a $50 pre-order deposit at GameStop (confirmed by me) and is shockingly made by Mad Catz. Yes, that Mad Catz.
There will be a $79 version of the stick without the arcade caliber parts and a VERY cool digital game pad that looks just like an old Sega Genesis controller.
All the controllers should be available when the game releases... and word is that they will be quite rare.
We'll see.
